UMO, a Japanese beauty company, has introduced the gold facial as a new way of skin treatment by using a sheet of pure gold.

The company claims that gold can lift and firm skin, reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles and leave you with a radiant glow. The treatment involves laying a sheet of 24 karat gold over the face and massaging the precious metal into the skin.

The price of such a fancy facial will set you back around $300.

Looking back a few years, it seems that this isn't the first time a gold facial has hit the headlines. Old Tut was partial to them too and he certainly didn't seem to have too many laughter lines.
